Sunshine Challenge 2023 #1 - Iris

I'll admit, I'm not super into poetry. There's poems I like, sure, but it's not something I actively seek out, and I don't think about the ones I've read often. Furthermore, the poems (and art in general) I like tends to be more on the darker side, so not very likely to fit the above-linked prompt. Oh, and I prefer reading longfic, so drabbles are a total no-go.
But still, I wanted to think of something, for a little extra challenge. I was wracking my brain for several minutes, when a memory finally floated up from somewhere deep inside my mind. It was a soundbite of a man, voice both tired and full of hope, saying "But when I close my eyes I see a world where we all work together. And it's so. Fucking. Beautiful." That, my friends, is the final line of The Sufferer's Final Sermon by Justin Briner.

Watching that video of The Sufferer's Final Sermon for the fifth time in a row actually awakened another memory in me.
So, I'm really into whump and have been for as long as I can remember. For obvious reasons, this lead to me really liking seeing the Sufferer in various predicaments, canon or otherwise. But then, Final Sermon had an emotional whump dimension to it, which made it extra delicious and on top of THAT, the part where the Condesce is shown smirking evily in a literal sea of dead bodies as the Sufferer shouts at her awakened something in me. It was like, oh hot irredeemably evil woman! She can torture the already tortured hot guy even more! So I did begin to think, like, what if she basically used him as her punching bag but didn't have him executed like in canon, wouldn't that be extra hot? So I fantasized about it for a bit, before moving on and promptly never thinking about it again... until now!!
Unfortunately for me, there's 15 whole fics tagged with the ship, some of which are just, like, talking about the lore of some AU, and the rest of which just don't interest me.
I doubt I could find anything on tumblr considering the porn ban and the purity police taking over HS fandom, so that's a bummer. I can write it myself but I don't wannaaaaaa. >:T Maybe when Id Pro Quo rolls around again I can nom Homestuck with that ship, people in that exchange tend to have quality kinks. I can also nom an OW version of the ship.
This is all assuming I'd both remember to do all that and have time for it, which. lol. lmao.
